A systematic review of the comparative effectiveness literature considering extra-fine particle ICS with licensed alternatives

The aim of this study is to summarise the comparative effectiveness of ICS medications of different particle sizes as assessed in real-life studies and to compare real-life effectiveness and safety outcomes to the RCT systematic review of the efficacy and safety outcomes.
Through comparison of the real-life and RCT data, key similarities and differences in the data will be drawn out and discussed, and argument presented for any apparent contradictions in the data. These arguments will focus specifically on the inherent differences in original research questions being addressed by the respective studies and the resultant implication for the interpretation of the evidence so produced.
